Swimming Program

Senneville pool is now accredited by the Red Cross. We offer swimming classes from this program and as a result we must meet the program's criteria. A certain number of hours are required in order to pass each level. This is the reason the season has been divided into 2 sessions of 4 weeks. This will allow children to complete 1 to 2 levels over the summer.

NEW - SWIMMERS EVALUATION DAY

We are organizing an evaluation day for swimmers, Saturday June 16 between 9 AM and 12 PM, in order to put together swimming lesson groups and avoid any confusion at the beginning of the season.

Please take note that those who already have Red Cross badges can present themselves at the evaluation day with their badges and receive an exemption from the evaluation.

SWIM PRESCHOOL

Preschool levels are for children aged from 4 months to 5 years of age. The program is divided into 8 levels:

Starfish
Duck
Sea Turtle
Sea Otter
Salamander
Sunfish
Crocodile
Whale

How do swimmers pass from one level to the next?

Red Cross Swim Preschool swimmers progress through the lower levels based on participation and age. Preschoolers aged three to five move through the upper levels based on skill evaluation.

Please take note that: the Starfish, Duck and Sea Turtle levels may be combined depending on the number of participants. Parental participation is also required for these levels. Additionally, children aged of 3 years old who have never followed any swimming lessons will begin at the Sea Otter level.

SWIM KIDS

The ten level junior program is for children aged 5 and up. Swimmers learn competitive and survival strokes and build their distance and speed, while focusing on making safe decisions in, on, and around the water.

Swimmers are evaluated based on performance criteria and can only move up to the next level once all the criteria has been met.

The transition between the preschool and junior program for children who have reached 6 years of age will take place in the following way:
